    Natalie Portman, the Academy Award-winning actress has become a voice for the vegan lifestyle. She feels so passionately about her veganism that she produced and narrated a 2018 documentary called Eating Animals. She decided to remove dairy and eggs from her diet when she was pregnant. She said, “it is a way that you can state what you believe in and what you care about three times a day”.

    While attending a concert, Maggie Q, the NIKITA actress, was approached by PETA. The employee made her understand how animals were mistreated in the industry. She talked about her shift to a vegan diet later: “When I’m eating, I’m not hurting the planet, I’m not hurting other people on the planet, I’m not hurting other animals”.

    Jessica Chastain, the Oscar-winning actress said that she started eating vegan after noticing she had some cholesterol problems and low energy. When she was 20 to 30, her doctor wanted to put her on medication to control her high cholesterol. She was upset about taking pills and decided to try out a vegan diet. After about 2 weeks, she said: “I just had more energy than I’ve ever had in my life. Being vegan was not anything I ever wanted to be. I just really was listening to what my body was telling me.”

    Emily Deschanel has been vegan since her teenage. She said her husband and two kids eat eggs occasionally, so they are almost vegan as well. She is a strong supporter of the idea that when people eat vegetarian and be a vegan, it will dramatically help the environment and can even save the planet. She said, “I still have to defend myself because people don’t understand it”.

    Portia once wrote an essay for a magazine, that she stopped eating meat after she and wife Ellen Degeneres moved to a farm in California. At the beginning of living on the farm, she ranked an animal’s value based on how “human” it was. But now she said, “I don’t judge other beings that way, every animal has its own intelligence and sensitivities. Now I feel happier like I’m contributing to making the world a less violent place.
